What Does The Bible Say About Other Religions?

What does the Bible say about other religions?

Introduction

There is only one God.

He is the creator of the universe.

He sent His only Son, Jesus, to the world to die for the sins of sinners so that anyone who accepts Him shall be saved and not condemned and granted eternal life.

The Bible answers every question about religion bothering people’s hearts.

It categorically states that Jesus is the only way, and only through Him can salvation, redemption, and eternal be obtained.

Those who embrace Jesus are on the right side.

While those who deny Him are condemned. Any religion built outside the knowledge and works of Christ is founded on falsehood and will not stand.

Let’s take a walk through the Bible to see what God says about Christianity and other religions like Islam, Hinduism, Mormon, etc.

What does the Bible say about other religions?

There is only one God.

“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” (Ephesians 4:4-6)

All other gods are the works and inventions of men.

Whether it is Allah, Mohammed, or gods of other religions.

God is the Father of all.

He is above all and crowned Lord of all and King of kings.

He founded the world and all that is in it.

All gods were either humans or man-made.

Some are carved with wood or molded with clay.

They cannot talk, move or see.

The Bible talks about Dagon, a Philistine god.

When the Ark of Covenant, representing God’s presence, was captured and brought into Dagon’s temple, the statue could not withstand God’s presence.

It fell to its face before God’s ark. Its head and hands are broken off and lying on the floor (1 Samuel 5:1-5)

The interesting thing to note is that any human, dead or alive, worshiped or seen as a symbol in any religion was created by God in heaven.

And the trees or sands from which all other gods were made were created by God. 1 Timothy 2:5 says, “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.”

Jesus is the only way. Is God and Jesus Christ the same Person

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

One of the primary purposes of religion is to gain earthly and eternal rewards.

Some religions promise access to paradise and virgins for enjoyment, some promise enlightenment, and others promise reincarnation.

All these promises have one purpose: ultimate fulfillment, peace, rest, and joy.

However, the Bible tells us that Jesus is the only way to God. He is the truth everyone seeks in diverse religions, and He is the life-giver.

Anyone who wants to see God or enter heaven accepts Him. Anyone who wants salvation, deliverance, healing, and true blessings must accept Him.

Any religion without Jesus Christ at the center is false. Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

The Bible says that unless we accept that Jesus was born, crucified, died, and resurrected, confess Him as Lord and Savior, and accept Him, there’s no salvation (Romans 10:9-10).

Many religions claim to believe in God but deny that Jesus is the Son of God. Islam says Jesus is a prophet and not God.

That is contrary to God’s Word. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1).

Jesus is the Word made flesh. He was the creative force that made the world (Genesis 1).

He was there at the beginning and now sits in heavenly places, above principalities, powers, rulers, and gods of this world (Ephesians 2:6, Philippians 2:9-11).

The narrow way leads to salvation. what does the bible say about criticizing other religions

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14)

Countless religions exist, but Christianity somehow ends up being their target.

Almost all religion in the world finds their meanings in discrediting Christianity and attacking its doctrines.

Even atheists, who claim to have no religious affiliations, attack Christians.

This speaks about the difficult path that leads to true salvation.

The road that leads to God and heaven is narrow.

Not only that, but it is full of trials, tribulations, and persecutions.

Only those completely sold out to God will successfully navigate this narrow path and receive a warm welcome from God the Father.

Jesus told His disciples they would face tribulations (John 16:33).

Why did Jesus say this?

Because the truth is constantly attacked.

He was a victim.

He was bruised, abused, tortured, and killed for teaching the truth.

He knew that we would face the same thing today.

Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.”

The broadway seems perfect.

No attacks, trials, or temptations because they belong to the devil’s camp.

The Bible says those who are not of God are of the devil (1 John 3:10).

The Bible also states that a kingdom divided against itself shall not stand (Matthew 12:25).

That is why other religions have the least resistance from the devil.

So, more people driven by ease and pleasures and not the truth naturally gravitate toward the broad path. But unfortunately, it leads to death and destruction.

How God sees people in other religionswhat does the bible say about other religions going to heaven

God loves the world.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

God does not care about your religion or beliefs.

He is after your soul.

He created everyone in His likeness and image.

Therefore, no one is greater than the other. That is why His salvation and redemptive vision are for everyone.

God did not send Jesus to die for Christians.

Instead, He sent Him to die for sinners.

Those are the sets of people who genuinely need the cleansing blood of the Lamb.

When Jesus came to the world, He declared that He did not come to save those already saved but the lost sheep (Matthew 15: 24)

Those practicing other religions are the lost sheep.

They need the saving grace of God to locate them.

They are the reason Jesus was nailed to the cross and why Jesus empowered His disciples.

Mark 2:17 says, “When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

God doesn’t want anyone to perish.bible verses about other religions

“Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?” (Ezekiel 18:23)

Unlike other religions that persecute those who don’t practice what they do or use force to stop other religions, God is not interested in defending Himself.

He is the Prince of Peace and the Lamb.

Jesus never incited His disciples against the Pharisees or religious leaders who constantly opposed and attacked Him.

In fact, the night Jesus was arrested, Peter tried to prevent His arrest by cutting off the ear of one of the soldiers who arrested Jesus.

Jesus’ response was shocking. He stopped Him and embraced God’s will for Him to die on the cross (John 18:10–11).

That act was unlike a particular religion that bombed public places in the name of their god and killed those who refused to accept their teachings.

Every soul is precious to God. He does not want anyone to perish but to be saved.

That is why Jesus Christ is always at the door of the hearts of sinners, knocking and asking them to allow Him in so He can transform and save them (Revelation 3:20).

Also, the Bible says the heavens rejoice whenever anyone accepts Jesus (Luke 15:10)

Even the worst human on earth has a chance to be saved by God.

God does not write anyone off. Jesus was crucified with two thieves.

One mocked Him while the other asked that Jesus should remember him in heaven.

This act declared that Jesus was the Son of god and was ascending to heaven.

Jesus heeded his request and promised him entry into heaven at the dying minute (Luke 23:39-43).

Also, the notorious Saul, who terrorized the early church by killing, arresting, and other forms of persecution, met God and became a convert.

God changed his name to Paul and used him to save the Gentile nations (Acts 9:1-19).

Only those who died sinners are condemned because there is no salvation after death. But anyone who comes to God today will be accepted and saved.

Therefore, God loves everyone and waits patiently for them to come to the knowledge of Christ.

How Christians should treat people in other religionsbible other religions

Preach the Gospel to them.

“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:15-16)

Jesus saved us for a purpose: to save others.

We are empowered to preach the Good News of Christ to the world (sinners).

Our core purpose is to save others from the spirit of falsehood and fake prophets leading people away from God into eternal destruction.

When Jesus was on earth, He sent His disciples to spread the message of salvation to many willing to hear.

He asked them to teach and baptize those who believe He is the Son of God.

Likewise, after He was about to ascend into heaven, He gave us the Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” (Matthew 28:19–20)

However, we must respect people’s opinions and decisions when preaching to them.

We must not force them to accept the Gospel (Matthew 10:14-15).

Our assignment is to speak.

God will take it up from there.

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers.bible on other religions

“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14)

Even though Jesus encourages us to preach the Gospel, we must understand the need to set boundaries.

We must not associate ourselves with other religions.

We must worship their gods, visit their temples, or partake in religious activities.

That is why some so-called Christians who believe in chakras do not know they are granting access to the devil to influence them.

The Bible says we should not partake in their religious practices. “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.” (Ephesians 5:11)

Evil communication and association corrupt good manners (1 Corinthians 15:33-44).

We must take a stand against other religions. Let everyone know where we belong.

We cannot sit on the fence.

God is not interested in lukewarm Christians (Revelation 3:15-16).

There are more than enough Christians that you can be friends.

Jesus said we should forsake ourselves as believers.

We should help ourselves spiritually and in other areas (Galatians 6:2-5)

Love your enemies (Matthew 5:44-48)bible verse about other religions

Finally, we should never repay evil with evil but with love.

Love is a powerful force that can bring people closer to Christ.

God is love (1 John 4:16).

Jesus encouraged us to love our enemies.

“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you” (Matthew 5:4).

Love separates us from others.

It is what makes us true disciples of Jesus (John 13:35).
