What is the biblical meaning of right ear ringing?
Introduction
The phrase “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” appears in several verses of the Bible, indicating the importance of the ear as an organ for receiving divine instructions, messages, and warnings.
The phrase does not only refer to the physical hearing of sound but the ability of the human spirit to be able to perceive and decode spiritual communications (Luke 8:8, Matthew 11:15, Mark 4:9).
That is why people, especially believers, must not neglect the ringing in their right ear.
The right ear is significant because of its positioning.
The Bible clearly distinguishes between the right from the left.
The right signifies strength, positivity, wisdom, etc.
For example, God’s right hand signifies strength, power, and protection.
Ecclesiastes 10:2 says, “A wise man’s heart directs him toward the right, but the foolish man’s heart directs him toward the left.”
The left, on the other hand, often signifies sinners, negativity, and condemnation (Matthew 25:33).
Matthew 25:41 says, “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Therefore, the good news is that right ear ringing is a positive sign. However, we must understand the message God or angels are trying to convey.
This article will discuss some of these meanings to help you act accordingly when next your right earrings.
The Biblical Meanings of Right Ear Ringing:
Good fortune.
“I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
Ringing in the right ear might be a sign of good things to come.
It may mean that you are about to experience good luck and blessings.
It shows that your hard work is about to pay off, and your life experiences a turnaround.
You need to pay attention to this sign if you have poured your time, effort, and resources into a project.
Ringing in the right ear might just be the sign that your harvest is near and investment is yielding results.
Your life is about to take some exciting turns.
Right ear ringing is a good sign that your life might be entering a new phase.
It means a new chapter of your career, business, or relationship is about to take an exciting new turn.
So, be ready for some shiftings in your life.
It could be that you will be relocating to a new environment where you will experience new culture and lifestyle.
It could also indicate that you might switch jobs or roles and have a new challenging, but exciting career adventure.
You also be meeting new friends who will redefine what you initially knew about friendship in a positive way.
A sign to stay alert.
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.” (Ephesians 6:18)
You might begin to pay attention to your environment and the people around you if your right ear starts ringing.
When your right earrings, your guardian angel might be warning you about gossip about you going around or being whispered.
That means you need to reevaluate your life and reexamine the people you allow into your space.
It shows that you are surrounded by negative energy, people who smile at you but stab you in the back.
Don’t take this sign lightly because it shows that some people in your circle can no longer be trusted.
You must know the information about your personal life to spill and those to withhold so you do not set yourself up for attacks. Therefore, stay on your toes.
Someone is speaking highly of you.
Just as your right ear ringing could indicate negative energy around you, it also means people are saying positive things about you.
So, you need discernment to distinguish which is good or bad. But, it is a sign that you are being recommended or praised for what you have done or for being just a fantastic person.
This is a sign from heaven that your labor of love and goodness is recognized and not ignored.
If you feel as though no one cares about the good you’re doing, this is the sign you need to confirm that God is watching you and will send people your way that will help you achieve greater heights and reward your efforts.
Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
You’re experiencing spiritual growth and development.
If your right ear usually rings when you pray or undergo spiritual exercises like Bible study or worship, it’s a sign of spiritual growth.
It means you’re experiencing a new dimension of power, spiritual awareness, and development.
Your spirit is having a more profound experience with the divine, and your soul is elevated.
Whatever you say at this state is powerful because your words are potent and backed with a spiritual force that brings all you say to pass.
A message from God to guide you on your journey.
Your right ringing ear might indicate that God is trying to speak to you.
The message might come directly into your ears or through other channels, like the Bible, a friend, a preacher, etc.
You must be deliberate about listening at this point not to miss the divine message God is sending your way.
Pay attention to your environment: the radio and TV shows, the magazine and newspaper, conversations with friends and strangers, billboards and posts on social media, etc.
The message can come through unlikely means. But you will know when you see or hear it.
It will be instructive and speak to your situation. Treat the message as sacred and implement it in your life.
A Call to Obedience.
“Listen carefully to what I say; let my words ring in your ears.” (Job 13:17)
God encourages His children to not be only readers of the word but doers (James 1:22-25).
That means His instructions must be obeyed and practiced to produce the desired results and have the intended effects.
Have you been reading the Bible without practicing it?
Have you stopped obeying God’s Word but did as you pleased?
Have you stopped reading the Bible? If you answered yes to any of these questions, your right ear ringing is God calling your attention to go back to the right track of life again.
God is calling you to obedience. He wants you to start studying and obeying His Word so your life can improve.
Do not play with this sign because obedience comes with lots of blessings.

Voice of the Holy Spirit.
“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.” (Isaiah 30:21)
Sometimes, that ringing in your right ear has a silent calm voice in it if you pay closer attention.
It isn’t just sound but a voice speaking to your heart. The Holy Spirit is gentle and doesn’t scream.
He is not an authoritarian commander but a comforter and adviser.
He speaks softly to guide and lead you on the right path.
You must learn to listen so you do not miss your way.
Therefore, know that your right ear is a receptor or antenna, receiving divine signals whenever it’s ringing.
All you have to do is stay silent and be deliberate to receive, understand and obey the information relayed to you.

A sign you have been chosen to serve.
“Then his master shall bring him to the judges. He shall also bring him to the door, or to the doorpost, and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him forever.” (Exodus 21:6)
Your right ear ringing is a sign that you have chosen to obey and serve God.
You have been set apart and sanctified to God’s work. Your ears are blessed and anointed to receive divine messages and deliver them to the people.
You are like a prophet to your generation, directing, correcting, admonishing, and calling for repentance and healing of the nations and God’s people. Therefore, you must be ready to receive your calling and begin to function in that capacity to serve God and His people.
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9)
Consecrated hearing
The right ear was very important under the mosaic law.
One of the rituals of consecrating the priests involved concreting their right ears with blood.
You shall slaughter the ram, and take some of its blood and put it on the lobe of Aaron’s right ear and on the lobes of his sons’ right ears and on the thumbs of their right hands and on the big toes of their right feet, and sprinkle the rest of the blood around on the altar. Exodus 29:20
And he brought Aaron’s sons, and Moses put of the blood upon the tip of their right ear, and upon the thumbs of their right hands, and upon the great toes of their right feet: and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about. Leviticus 8:24
The application of blood on the right ears of the priests signified the consecration of their ears.
Priests served a holy calling in Israel.
They would represent God before man through various rituals, including offering sacrifice in the temple.
It was, therefore, important for them to have the gift of discernment by which they could discern right and wrong.
God was very particular about the types of sacrifice that were to be offered in the Tabernacle of Moses or the temple of Solomon.
The priests could therefore advise the Israelites on what type of sacrifice was acceptable.
On some occasions, the people would try to defraud God by pledging to offer a certain sacrifice and then offering something completely different.
This was a terrible sin, and God took it so seriously that he would often judge the perpetrators.
A good illustration of this is found in the book of Acts when Ananias and Saphira decided to hide some of the money that they had pledged to give God. As a result of their deceit, God struck them dead in the temple.
Apostle Peter, who was presiding over the offerings like priests did, discerned their deceit and rebuked them for it. This is why the right ear of the priests would be consecrated in blood.
As such, if you start hearing a ringing in your right ear, it could be a call to sharpen your spiritual senses.
As the Book of Hebrews records, you can train your senses through regular use (Hebrews 5:14).
In the new covenant, you do not consecrate the ear with physical blood, as was the case in the Old Testament. On the contrary, you put to flame the gift of discernment through prayer as Paul charged his son Timothy to do (2 Timothy 1:6).
Divine healing
Apart from consecration, the right ear also served to illustrate divine healing.
We know this because it was used in the cleansing ceremony of lepers. Here are the scriptural references:
The priest shall take some of the blood of the guilt offering, and the priest shall put it on the lobe of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed and on the thumb of his right hand and the big toe of his right foot. Lev. 14:14
And of the rest of the oil in his hand, the priest shall put some on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the blood of the trespass offering. Lev. 14:17
Leprosy was a serious malady that had no cure in Bible time.
This was one of the reasons why the leperous were quarantined outside the city. However, God often healed the lepers, and the law of Moses required any leper who was healed to present himself to the priest for an elaborate cleansing ritual.
As we have observed from the scriptures above, the ritual would entail the application of blood on the right ear lobe of the cleansed leper.
There are lots of scriptures in the Bible that indicate how God wants his children to enjoy divine health.
For instance, in Exodus 23:25, God promises Israel that he will take sickness away from them.
In Exodus 15:26, God introduces himself as Jehovah Rapha, and He promises to not put the sickness of Egypt upon his people.
It is, therefore, possible that a ringing right ear could be an indication of God’s divine health or divine healing.
If you have been ill, it might just be a sign that God has seen your affliction and is sending help.
The same may be true if you have been believing God for the healing of a loved one. However, in some cases, it might just be a reminder of God’s divine health, which is a promise for his children.
When the Canaanite woman asked Jesus for healing, Jesus responded that it was not right to give the children’s bread to the dogs (Mathew 15:25-28).
This meant that healing was a right to God’s children, so it is okay to believe God for it.
Servitude
The right ear was also used to indicate slaves under the Mosaic covenant.
The Bible says that if one volunteered to be a slave for life, the right ear was to be pierced.
then his master shall bring him to the judges. He shall also bring him to the door, or to the doorpost, and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl, and he shall serve him forever. Exodus 21:6
The Bible reminds us that we are called to be slaves of righteousness.
Jesus is also referred to as our master, which means we are his servants.
A ringing sound in the right ear might therefore be a stark reminder of our call of servitude.

My left ear has been ringing for a very long time and it used to hurt chronic pain. This happened for over 15 years and now it still rings but doesn’t hurt. Though now I have constant inflammation in my body that isn’t detected in hospitals. My body feels empty and it’s so hard for me to stay calm as am in a state of confusion. I pray hard now and I hope God will guide me through all this
