Biblical meaning of seeing a shooting star:
Introduction
The star is an integral element in the heavens created by God to give beauty, brightness, and glory to the sky and light to the earth.
There are uncountable stars in the universe. However, the shooting star is unique and always stands out because of its beauty and noticeable movement.
That is why you can count yourself lucky when you experience the amazing occurrence of a shooting star nosediving from the heavens.
The Bible did not specifically mention shooting stars. However, stars are frequently mentioned and linked with different things and events in the Bible.
It is interesting to note that even Jesus Christ referred to Himself as the Bright and Morning Star in Revelation 22:16.
That implies there’s something significant about this heavenly body.
Many areas of the Bible talk about stars.
Here are some biblical symbols of shooting stars in the Bible:
The birth of a great personality
“When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him…” (Matthew 2:10-11)
Seeing a shooting star falling from the sky could mean that an important personality has just landed on earth or been born.
It is a way of announcement of a distinguished personality who would become great in the future and a fantastic leader.
Remember that the wise men in the Bible could tell that Jesus was born when they saw His star in the sky.
Therefore, when you see a shooting star, know that a child with a vision and beautiful destiny has entered the planet earth.
If you are pregnant with a child or just gave birth, and you see a shooting star, it symbolizes that your baby will be an important personality and become a famous leader.
Divine guidance
“Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” (Matthew 2:1-2)
One possible interpretation of a shooting star is that it represents a moment of divine intervention or guidance.
It may be a sign that God is watching over you and guiding you on your path.
The wise men in the Bible were given guidance and direction by the star in the sky.
The star led them directly to the manger where Jesus lay.
In the midst of confusion, a shooting star can point you toward the right path to follow to get to your desired destination.
God might be using it to take you from the wrong path and lead you to where your blessings are.
It could also be a recall to stay true to your faith and trust in God’s plan for your life.
Glory
“Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.” (Daniel 12:3)
Seeing a shooting star is a symbol of glory and fame.
It means that you will be distinguished in your field and known across the world for your outstanding gifts and actions.
It shows that your name will be written in the scrolls of history and people’s hearts; better still, it will be etched into the stars in the sky, never forgotten.

New beginnings
Another interpretation is that the shooting star is a symbol of hope and new beginnings.
It may be a sign that you are given a second chance or a fresh start in some area of your life.
This can be seen as a message of encouragement from God to keep moving forward and not give up.
When you are holding on to something old too much and seeing a shooting star often, it is time to let go and start something new.
Also, if you believe you have messed up so much and have no hope of restoration and redemption, seeing a shooting star could symbolize that God is not through with you yet. You have hope and a future.

Fall from glory
“And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” (Luke 10:18)
Seeing a shooting star has a negative meaning as well. In the Bible, the devil used to be the morning star.
That was the initial glory God gave him when he was still an archangel in heaven. However, he became consumed by lust for power and pride and rebelled against God.
A war broke out in heaven, and the devil and his army were defeated and cast down to the earth.
The devil, the morning star, fell like a shooting star from heaven.
Therefore, seeing a shooting star could mean that you are about to lose your exalted position. However, you shouldn’t worry if you have a pure heart devoid of pride, arrogance, and rebellion.
But if you have been exhibiting any of those negative traits, that’s a sign that your end is fast approaching.
Shooting star colors and their meaning
For the most part, shooting stars will be white to the casual observer. However, using sophisticated cameras to observe them may reveal other colors, including orange, green, yellow, blue, and violet.
The exact colors of the shooting star will depend on the composition of the star.
For instance, stars that have sodium will appear to be yellow, while those that have magnesium will appear to be green. But the colors of the stars reveal much more than just the composition of the star – they also have some significant spiritual significance.
Let’s take a closer look at some of these.
Orange shooting star meaning
A star that has lots of sodium may produce an orange light when observed through a camera.
Because table salt has sodium as the building block, we may infer that an orange shooting star symbolizes flavor and preservation.
That’s because salt is often used to add flavor to food as well as preserve food.
Orange is one of the colors that is not mentioned in the Bible. However, this could be because orange, as a color, had not been invented yet. But there are lots of things in the Bible that are orange in color, including (but not limited to) fire, rust, pottery, iron ore, etc.
Fire is arguably the most common orange object in the Bible.
Since stars have been described by scientists as “balls of hot gases,” we can safely infer that an orange shooting star will carry the same symbolism as fire.
The most common symbolism of fire in the Bible is purification. For instance, the prophet Malachi used fire to describe God’s purification:
But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? or he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap. Malachi 3:2
Fire may also symbolize God’s presence.
God would often prelude his presence with fire.
For instance, Moses had his first encounter with God in a burning bush.
Later on, God led the Israelites with a pillar of fire by night.
All of these could be the meanings of orange shooting stars.
Green shooting star meaning
The green pigmentation in green shooting stars comes from the magnesium content in the star.
Magnesium is not only one of the most abundant elements on earth, but it is one of the elements that is mandatory for cellular life.
As such, green shooting stars have an important symbolism.
The word green appears 44 times in the King James Version.
It is more prevalent in the Old Testament, where it appears 40 times as opposed to the 4 times it appears in the New Testament.
One of the Hebrew words that is translated as green is raanan. This word means fresh, new, verdant, or flourishing.
As such, the color green can be used to denote prosperity. However, green is also the color of vegetation, and it can therefore be used to symbolize life or health.
Green shooting stars can therefore be seen as symbols of freshness, new beginnings, prosperity, good fortune, health, and wealth.
White shooting star meaning
White is the defacto color for most stars.
It will take special equipment to discern other colors, but if you observe with the naked eye, there is a good chance that the shooting star will appear to be white.
This is significant because white represents the presence of all light in the visible spectrum.
White is one of the most referenced colors in the Bible – coming second only to blue.
It is often associated with purity or righteousness.
This explains why Isqaih talked of our sins being made as white as snow (Isaiah 1:18).
Another illustration is the white horse in Revelation 6:2, as well as the use of white garments as a metaphor for holiness (Dan. 7:9, Mathew 17:2).
Blue-violet shooting star meaning
Just like the other colors we have seen, blue-violet stars cannot be seen by the naked eye, but they exist.
Blue stars are believed to be the hottest of all stars.
Any star that is more than three times the size of the sun will appear to be blue if viewed from Earth.
Blue is the commonest color in the Bible, and it is often used to denote holiness.
The color blue is thought of as the color that represents divinity.
This is based on the scripture in Exodus 24:10, where God’s pavement is described as blue.
Blue (or violet) shooting stars can therefore signify God’s presence.

A week ago as I was asleep, a symbol appeared unto me. To describe the symbol as I can recalled. There were four lines closed in like a box, there was a circle in the middle of the box, there was also a symbol like the star of David. It had a hexagram of two triangles over laid to form a six pointed stars. There were shooting stars stars within the whole symbol. Can you tell me what all this means.

The symbol you saw is the Star of David. The Star of David is sometimes called the "Shield of David" because it is believed to offer protection. Historically, It has been associated with safeguarding the Jewish people from physical and spiritual adversity. Some Jews wear or display the Star of David as a protective amulet. Combining this symbol and shooting stars strongly signifies divine protection and guidance. You are shielded from spiritual and physical forces like Herod, who wanted to eliminate Jesus. You have a glorious destiny. Therefore, you must take your spiritual life seriously so you are not attacked.
